1. Learn as much as you can about breastfeeding - from books,internet, friends who support/experienced breastfeeding, lactation counselor.
2. Choose hospitals & health care providers who encourage breastfeeding. - 'Rakan Bayi' Hospitals. Please ask whether they have lactation nurse/counselor that can help you.
3. Find a good source of support for before and after birth - educate yourself, husband and family (e.g your own mum or MIL), try to get confinement lady (mak bidan) who have experience with breastfeeding mothers, join forum/mother support groups.
